D.I.Y vintage bookmarks
It’s been a long time you’re asking me to teach how to make the bookmarks you’ve been seeing in my pictures. Today I decided to show you how easy it is and how marvelous they look!
*Material needed:

♥ A set of pliers for handcrafting
♥ Pendants
♥ Beautiful ribbons*
*Hint: be careful not to choose a ribbon that might damage your book. Avoid the thicker ones.

♥ Ribbon Clamps*
*There are ribbon clamps in different sizes and plating (old gold, gold, silver, nickel). It’s interesting to have the ribbon with you when you buy the clamps, for they must be the same or almost the same size.

♥ Glue for jewelry making
♥ Pendant base to attach pieces in which the jump ring doesn’t fit

♥ Jump rings to attach the pendants
Step-by-step:

Cut the ribbon about two inches longer than the book length

Use the flat nose pliers for closing the ribbon clamp (see the picture). Place the ribbon in the center of the clamp and press lightly.

Put the clamps on both ends of the ribbon.

Depending on what you choose to attach on your bookmark, you’ll need to glue it on a pendant base, as I did to this flower :)

To open the jump ring use the pliers with the thinner nose and, to close, the flat nose one (the same you used to close the ribbon clamps)
Its’ done!

There are more photos of my bookmarks on my flickr. Click on the hearts to see some of them: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
As you know, my mom and I sell a lot of bookmarks and, for the time being, we stopped selling them online due to our day-to-day rush and lack of time. We’re studying the possibility of reopening the online store. I hope it works out :D
Oh, the material used for making the bookmarks can be found in haberdashery stores and stores specialized in jewelry making.
Thanks for everything, guys!
xoxo see you next post!
